Baby Mikela Update

Hello everyone. We wanted to get in an update on lil’ Mikela. She is getting bigger and bigger each day. We know this mostly by the greater discomfort Allison expresses each day. It is amazing to think that this baby goes, and all those organs inside of Allison have to go somewhere too….I am just amazed by the whole process. It is truly miraculous. I am not sure how someone can watch this process all happen, and neglect to think of a great design and greater Designer behind it all.

I spent a few days last week with my buddy Jamey working on a nursery. What turned into a “couple hours only” project lapsed into a day. A day into two days. Two days into two and a half days. Aaaargh! I am now more convinced than ever that I am in my calling. At least I am not called to carpentry and handyman work. Good grief,…I sure had to ask God for patience in this little project. Suffice is to say, when we return home after Christmas and a work conference down south, I must figure out how to fix the electrical problem I created just before we left. However, Mikela will be pleased to see all the preparation we made for her.

This week, Allison did the first load of her clothes. It was a fun moment. Of course, they will be folded away in her drawer for the next three months until she gets here. By then, they will have collected enough dust and lint that they will require a second wash,….all before she tries them on for size. Then I imagine with all the spit up and what not, we will be washing them a third time in her first week home. Classic.

So, please continue to pray for her and us. We are getting more and more excited with each day. We can hardly wait for her to get here. The rest of the family is getting excited too. For me, I just cannot wait to get her out there surfing with me. I suspect that will come in due time. Til then…
